Serendipity

/ˌserənˈdipədē/

Noun

noun: serendipity

the occurrence and development of events by chance in a happy or beneficial way

At Safe Harbor on a typical afternoon, we received a call from a person who witnessed a large box suddenly become airborne out of the back of a truck going about 60 miles per hour on the freeway moments before. After watching the box tumble and land safely on the side of the road this Good Samaritan pulled over to examine the box and its contents. Upon inspection he discovered an excavator windshield, unbroken, from Safe Harbor, Inc. that we had shipped to a customer earlier in the week. After filling us in on the details of his experience he kindly volunteered to contact the customer and take it to them. The recipient of the package was especially fortunate today because the man who rescued his package from the side of a highway also happens to be a salesman for the local dealership that services the machines this particular windshield goes on!

We are impressed by not only the generosity this person (who does not work for any major delivery carrier) exhibited in wanting to ensure the package made it to its proper destination, but also that the glass contents of the package were still in perfectly usable condition. A testament to kind folks being in the right place at the right time and our carefully packaged product.
